I have Elements 14 on a Mac (High Sierra 10.13.6). I've checked that Elements is up to date. When trying to import from 'camera / card reader' using an SD card in the Mac I'm constantly getting 'none detected' in source in the photo downloader, although my Mac can see the SD card in Finder.

For the last couple of years I have transferred the pictures taken by my canon 30d to my macbook pro using a simple usb cable. A few weeks ago this stopped working, and I can't figure out why. I've tried different usb cables, different usb ports and I've tried a card reader. Sd card reader for mac amazon. I tried connecting the card reader to a friend's computer (using linux), and it read the picture files just fine. The system profiler finds the card reader, but I've not been able to actually read the files (using finder, ligthroom or image capture).

Edit: It does not show up in disk utility. I'm starting to suspect that the card is corrupted, but it's still strange that it worked when I used my friend's computer.
